Chiropractic Care

Neck and back pain

Dr. Drew utilizes a hands-on approach that targets the joints of the body. He also recognizes the importance of soft tissue work, such as stretching and massage, in conjunction with his treatments. Drew describes his chiropractic approach as holistic because he dedicates time to address more than just the spine.

When treating the neck, Dr. Drew emphasizes that chiropractic adjustments do not have to be forceful or involve abrupt, extreme rotations of the neck. He prioritizes his patients' comfort and always errs on the side of caution, working within their boundaries to ensure a safe and effective treatment experience.

Chinese Medicine Classes

Moxa classes are taught

Alexis enjoys teaching classes on moxibustion, which involves stimulating specific acupuncture points to regulate energy flow using mugwort on the skin to open Qi/Chi channels. She also teaches about cupping therapy, used for pain and inflammation caused by injuries, diet, or autoimmune disorders, preventing blood stagnation that can lead to chronic issues

Corrective Exercises

Enjoying exercising with family

We guide our patients through corrective exercises that strengthen muscles, aiding in spinal realignment. These exercises, designed for home use at your own pace, enhance healing and complement our chiropractic treatments. Dr. Drew can also suggest ways to prevent further strain on your back, neck, shoulders, knees, hips, or spine.

For more serious or concerning musculoskeletal issues, we always recommend consulting with a physical therapist for additional guidance and specialized care.  See the Local Health Resources page for recommendations

Lifestyle Advice

Side sleeping on pillow

Many patients come to our chiropractor for pain relief like back pain, neck pain, or headaches. While treating these conditions, we also provide guidance on healthy living, such as recommending activities to avoid or modify. Dr. Drew enjoys educating patients on anatomy, physiology, and sleep positions to enhance overall wellness. We focus on helping each patient achieve a fulfilling lifestyle and promote total health and wellness.

Nutritional Counseling

Ginger root for health

Chinese medicine places great emphasis on nutrition for health and healing, recommending a balanced diet tailored to individual constitutions and conditions. Alexis holds classes and writes about these nutritional recommendations, which include principles like seasonal eating, moderation in consuming cold or raw foods, and the use of herbs and spices with medicinal properties to support overall well-being.

Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound for the knee

Therapeutic ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to treat soft tissue injuries like muscle strains and tendonitis. It increases blood flow, reduces pain, promotes tissue repair, breaks down scar tissue, and enhances medication absorption. This non-invasive treatment is commonly used by physical therapists and sports medicine practitioners for healing and pain relief.

Cold Laser Therapy

Cold laser therapy, also known as "soft laser therapy," uses low-level lasers to stimulate damaged tissues, aiding healing and relieving pain and inflammation. It increases serotonin production, stimulates the neuroendocrine system, boosts cell metabolism, promotes collagen growth, and improves blood circulation, making it effective for acute or chronic pain relief and tissue repair.
